The end of an era...

An era is ten years and Amber Quill Press was in business a little longer than that. And I'm gonna miss 'em like crazy. - Trace, Laura, Karin - love you guys.

AQP was more than my publisher, they were part of my family, but tonight, at midnight, the shutters go down, the website and all the books will pass into the land of Remember When? and--

Hey, wait just a minute here. I'm not going anywhere. :)

My books will be temporarily unavailable, but they'll be making a comeback. The Peninsula Heights and Hennessey Falls series are in the very capable hands of MLR Press with It's Complicated to make a reappearance sometime in late April. Others are with Loose Id who want me to revise and add scenes to turn some into longer books. The shorter books may be reissued as collections, although no definite decisions as yet. I'm currently revising The Cop And The Drifter (m/m) and it's definitely benefitting from my editor's suggestions. And Reincarnation will be expanded to include the sequel I never got around to writing.

The Amethyst Cove series I share with KC Kendricks, I intend to self-publish. KC has made me beautiful new covers, so I have no excuse not to. I just have to take a deep breath and DO IT! The two other series I share with KC--The Escort and The Ghost At The B&B will also be returning and maybe as full length novels. At the moment, they're at the end of a long list of To Be Decided.

WHERE'S MICHELLE was my very first published book and the cover artist was Trace Edward Zaber. When that publisher vanished into history and some of the former authors brought AQP into being, Caitlyn Willows bought the cover from Trace and gifted it to me. It was such a nice thing to do, but then Caitlyn (or Catherine as some know her) is a very nice person.

P.S. Until midnight tonight you can still buy my books at And they're 60% off regular price.

What's Happening?

The closure of Amber Quill Press on March 30, 2016 means that my books will be unavailable for a while.

The good news is that, beginning at some point in late April, MLR Press will be reissuing IT'S COMPLICATED, followed by OH, WHAT A KNIGHT, THE REPLACEMENT and NO ONE'S PERFECT.

I will also be reissuing, via self-publishing, my contributions to the Amethyst Cove series, MISSING, PRESUMED DEAD, MISSING BUT NOT DEAD, and STILL MISSING.

The balance of my (Christiane France) backlist of erotic romance is currently being considered for reissue by another publisher. What they don't take, I'm planning to self-publish.

Of my "Chris Grover" books, three paranormal shorts - BELIEVING IN DREAMS, MEETING MR. WRIGHT, and VALENTINE'S INN will be re-released via a multi-author boxed set later this year--probably October. I have no definite plans for the 3 full-length mystery/suspense novels, SEEING IS BELIEVING, WHERE'S MICHELLE, and WITHOUT A CLUE, but I will be reissuing them eventually.

I'm currently working on some new stuff. A submission for a recent call by MLR Press, a follow-up to Still Missing, and another story in the Hennessey Falls series. I wish I could write faster, and I wish there were more hours in the day, but it is what it is and I just have to keep moving onward and upward.

IWSG BLOG – Wednesday, March 2, 2016

The Insecure Writer’s Support Group

My last IWSG post was full of doom and gloom following the announcement that Amber Quill Press is closing at the end of this month. Now, two months later, things are looking a little more encouraging.

The really good news is that I’ve placed four books in the Peninsula Heights series with another publisher with the first one, It’s Complicated, due to be re-issued sometime in late April. I’m still waiting to hear back from another publisher on other books, but these things take time and I have to be patient. More good news is that three sweet m/f paranormal short stories, previously included in anthologies, will be re-issued via a multi-author boxed set to be released later this year, probably in October.

Over the past several weeks, thanks to KC Kendricks, I’ve been learning the intricacies of indie publishing. This means that I’ll be self-publishing Missing, Presumed Dead, Missing, But Not Dead, and Still Missing, my 3 books in our shared Amethyst Cove series, sometime this summer. Yes, I’m nervous about doing it, very scared of messing up, but KC has already made me 3 brand new covers, so I have no excuse. I have to take a deep breath and just go for it.
