November 9, 2013:
For MySexySaturday this week, I have seven short paragraphs from RAINDROPS AND ROSES, the first book in my London Calling series. Drew and Michael first met early in the day. They’ve just returned from dinner and Drew has known all along how the evening will end. Then at the last minute Drew gets an attack of nerves.

Cool mysteries and hot romance - Latest Release: ONE PERFECT NIGHT Coming Soon: A HAPPY CHRISTMAS ENDING

Raindrops And Roses by Christiane France ISBN-13: 978-1-61124-356-7 (Electronic)

The day before Drew McEvoy is to fly home, following a temporary work assignment in London, he trips going down the stairs to a teashop and is saved from injury by the quick thinking of Englishman Michael Dawson. Michael can see Drew is a little shaken up by the incident, so invites him to sit at his table to catch his breath and offers to buy him a cup of tea.

The chemistry is there from the word "go." Drew doesn’t know if it’s a momentary thing, or if it could turn into something more, but there’s not enough time for him to find out. All he can do is hold onto the moment and stretch it out to the very last drop.

But Michael surprises Drew by inviting him to have a drink at his flat and then go for dinner. Drew knows the most they can have is a few hours, that this time tomorrow they’ll be thousands of miles apart. Should he risk spoiling their brief time together by telling Michael that? Or would it be better to keep his mouth shut? After all, they’re just ships passing in the night, right?

Michael got off the bed, poured a little wine into each of the two glasses and gave one to me. “Here. A little Dutch courage.”

“You think I need it?” I took a sip, but my hand trembled and I put the glass on the bureau. “God! I feel like an idiot.”

He took my face in his hands, kissing me gently on the mouth and putting his arms around me. “Hey, it’s all right.” He started rubbing my back, digging deep to loosen the tight muscles, then moving lower to squeeze my butt cheeks. “This isn’t the first time for you, is it?”

“No. It’s…” I forced what passed for a laugh. “It’s nothing. Just over-excited, I guess.”

“The result of too much anticipation?”

“Something like that.”

“It happens. Take off your shirt and pants and lie face down on the bed. Maybe a massage will do the trick.”

  1. Good development of tension. I suspect they're going to get on just fine.

    1. Thanks, Serena. They will, eventually. But it's taking two books to get them to smarten up.
