July 2, 2016 - MySexySaturday - The Cop And The Drifter

July 2, 2016:

For this week’s edition of MySexySaturday http://mysexysaturday.blogspot.ca/ I have seven paragraphs from THE COP AND THE DRIFTER. A love story between a pair of very unlikely characters. The book has been revised and expanded and was re-released this week by Loose Id LLC.

THE COP AND THE DRIFTER

By Christiane France

Blurb:

When they meet one evening in the woods Brad takes in Davie’s small stature and pretty-boy looks, and assumes the kid is just another runaway. As a cop, Brad has learned to recognize the signs. But Brad is already in trouble with his superiors. He’s on suspension for "assuming" something in connection with a case, so he should know better than to assume anything.
Davie is in fact in his early twenties and after escaping a horrible past has been reduced to living hand to mouth as a drifter. He’s homeless and starving, but when he meets Brad, despite their differences, he can't fight the immediate attraction he shares with the older man.

There’s no way they can follow up on their feelings, so next morning Brad gives Davie a lift into town, says goodbye and continues on his way. A year later they meet again by chance. The attraction is still there and they’re now in the position to do something about it. But do they want to?

Davie’s voice was a little hoarse and his eyes a little too bright. And suddenly the penny dropped for Brad. Davie was jealous of Des.
Brad shook his head. “Des is not my boyfriend, Davie. We’re not lovers, we’re work colleagues. We’re police officers, and we’re partners on the job.” He then told Davie about Des’s father donating the paint and Des agreeing to help. “Des is single the same as me, but he’s a complicated character. I know he still lives at home, but I can’t say for sure if he’s gay or straight. We’ve gone out drinking a few times and yes, one night we went to the Paradise. We had a few beers and I left. Alone. That’s it.”

“Really?”

“I wouldn’t lie to you, Davie. Why would I?”
“No idea.” Davie’s expression relaxed into a smile. “Like I said, you don’t owe me any explanations or anything, but I’m glad to know you’re still available.”

As he spoke, Davie steered Brad around the corner, out of sight of anyone coming in, and into a large but empty storage cupboard at the end of the hallway.

Their mouths met, their tongues tangled, and Brad felt the hard, insistent pressure of Davie’s arousal against his lower belly. It took what had to be less than a second to get that way himself once Davie pulled the door shut, enclosing them in the warm, musty-smelling darkness.
