And suddenly it's September...

The end of September and already three-quarters of 2014 has gone. We didn’t have much of a summer—no walks around the Bay or trips to a favorite eatery on the Beach, but the weather has been beautiful the past few days here in the Niagara Peninsula. Temperatures in the 70’sF and cloudless blue skies. Now, the leaves are starting to change color. Two weeks from today, October 13, is Canadian Thanksgiving. By then the maple trees will have erupted with their annual blaze of gold, orange, and red to let us know that the chill of winter isn’t too far away.
2014 marked the start of my Peninsula Heights series: IT’S COMPLICATED and LOOKING FOR ANSWERS. Both are available from www.amberquill.com, www.amazon.com, and www.allromanceebooks.com.  There will be more books in this series—I’m working on a sequel to Looking For Answers, no title as yet, but it will wind up the mystery that started in It’s Complicated, and OH, WHAT A KNIGHT, part of the KNIGHTS theme AmberPax, will be released by AmberAllure sometime in the early part of 2015.

2014 also saw the release of LONDON CALLING, a paperback collection that includes the four books in the series: Raindrops And Roses, Simply Irresistible, One Perfect Night, and A Happy Christmas Ending - http://www.amberquill.com/store/p/1988-London-Calling.aspx

This has also been The Year Of The Ghost. I had a great time co-authoring THE GHOST WORE DENIM with fellow Amber Quill author KC Kendricks, and it will be released October 5, 2014 by AmberAllure.  The story is set in a suburb of Williamsburg, Virginia, and features a university professor, a sheriff’s deputy, and a nosy ghost. KC chose the location, but when I read through the galley the other day I truly could not figure out which parts each of us wrote, we were that in sync with the characters and the plot. The end screams for a sequel and I already have an idea for the opening scene, but we’ll have to see where we can fit it in with our other commitments.

I love ghost stories and the collaboration with KC sparked another ghostly idea which resulted in RISING DAMP to be released by AmberAllure on November 9, 2015: When Matt Jones takes a temporary job as a housekeeper/housesitter he’s worried about patching up a misunderstanding with his new boyfriend. He has no idea he’ll be sharing the premises with a displaced ghost. And he would never, not even in his wildest dreams, have imagined that a ghost could be sexy or that life with a ghost would be both exciting and rewarding.
On October 19, 2014 MISSING, BUT NOT DEAD, my second contribution to the AmberCove mystery series, will be released as part of the California Dreamin’ AmberPax: When Greg Stewartson, ex-cop, private investigator, and half-owner of Amethyst Cove Security & Investigations, meets Ash Tyler, a handsome and very sexy nurse, their mutual attraction turns Greg’s world upside down. Greg would love to just concentrate on their budding romance. But he also wants to help Ash find his biological family—the one Ash says he had before he was taken into care, adopted and moved from California to Michigan more than twenty years ago. Although if they were Ash’s real family what made them vanish almost as effectively as if they’d never existed in the first place?

Over the past year or so, KC Kendricks and I have also tried our hands at something a little different. Writing as Parker Linn, we came up with our version of what happens when an out-of-work construction guy decides to become a professional escort. Each of the five stories were so much fun to write—especially one that I’ll probably never stop laughing about, and they’re all available individually or as a paperback collection at http://www.kckendricks.com/ParkerLinnProject.html
